Beyond Deconstructing Season Three

Decolonizing Mental Health & Redefining Autism by unpacking the systems that pathologize us and reclaiming the narratives that empower us.

For the past two seasons, Beyond Deconstructing has challenged the rigid, one-dimensional narrative of autism - one that centers whiteness, compliance, and outdated stereotypes - by amplifying the voices and lived experiences of those who have been erased from the conversation for far too long. We've explored the intersections of neurodiversity, identity, and systemic oppression, peeling back the layers of societal conditioning that tell us who we should be. Now, in Season Three, we’re going even deeper. With a sharp focus on decolonizing mental health, we’ll unpack the harmful legacies of white supremacy, eugenics, and weaponized Christianity in shaping how neurodivergence (especially in BIPOC communities) is misunderstood and pathologized. But make no mistake, our core mission remains the same. Beyond Deconstructing will always be a space for radical truth-telling, community, and reimagining what it truly means to be autistic. This season, we’re not just deconstructing…we’re reclaiming.
